Edit in the web app
- Open the Clip from Clips, Search, or Favorites.
- Choose Edit near the Clip title.
- Change the Clip Title or Clip Content. Conversation Clips appear as editable Markdown with speaker headings.
- Optionally add new files or select replacements for existing files.
- Choose Save changes and wait for the detail view to refresh.
Ask your AI to update a Clip
You can also explicitly ask ChatGPT or Claude to rename or update a known Clip. Identify the Clip and describe the exact change. Clipboard will not infer an edit from a general discussion.
Try saying
Rename my “Acme notes” Clip to “Acme renewal notes 2026.”
What editing preserves
- The Clip’s ID and position in existing links.
- Existing attachments unless you explicitly replace them.
- Sharing settings and recipients.
- Source information and favorite status.
